I somehow count 16 syllables. But I know you have time to change it. I liked your opening with "May melds into June." (Maybe drop the "As"?) Yes, some of the most fragrant roses have big thorns! Best wishes in the contest!

I just filled all the vases in my house with roses. Flowers are such a gift. I spent the day clearing out weeds and the fun was bringing a bucket of flowers in as my reward. Grow them, pick them, smell them...they don't last long. Esther

Can Do! Really, it MUST DO because I'm addicted to fragrant flowers, of course roses are in the bunch. Beautifully written and illustrated in short verse poetry, Zanya dear. All my very best, and my best wishes too in the contest.

This is lovely. I do love smelling the roses. Are you sure you don't have 16 syllables instead of 15. THe first like has six and the other two have five.
You have five word in the first one but into has two syllables.
