Why, that HUSSY!!! Grandmothers aren't supposed to be hussies!!
This is intriguing, for sure. Will there be a sequel?
When I was a paralegal, my boss was friends with a man who made my boss the Executor of his Will, even though he, the friend, was married and had kids and grandkids. And he'd told my boss, years before he, the friend, (unexpectedly) passed, that he wanted my boss to be the one who cleaned up the home office. My boss returned from that task, shaken to the core - and this was a veteran trial attorney, mind you - because among the belongings he'd cleared out was a trove of pictures (Polaroids) of the man and many, many women in many different compromising poses!! My boss said, "The lesson here is: Don't ever let ANYONE take a picture of you naked, because you never know what happens to it or who could find it when you die. If I hadn't been the one to find these, this would have been DEVASTATING for his wife."
So, your intriguing story here evoked that forty-five-year-old memory, Harry. (I've ALWAYS heeded that advice!)

I think that is very good advice. I have made sure I destroyed all past items that may cause suspicion. I make sure there is no evidence to be found. I trust you have done the same. Thanks for the read and the bolstering of good advice.

"dust danced into a beam of sunlight." Good use of personification.
"dropped the locket into her pocket." Nice unintended rhyme.
Well, her granny was young way back then, and entitled to having other--even secret--lovers besides her grandpa, who eventually married her grandma. And most likely granny had kept the locket because it was specially sentimental to her. So, no harm done--unless she got and kept it after marrying grandpa. And, if so, then...pickles.

I can imagine Sam's mind would be racing, yet your wonderful story leaves the reader with at least a couple of options, did grandma have an affair? or did grandpa pass away before Sam knew him? very well written, an excellent write for this prompt, best wishes for your contest****kahpot
