Well done. It's obvious, like myself you have been blessed with a loving family. Many have not been so blessed as you and I. I suppose family is easy to write about because they are the closest to our heart.

It's so often the case that a good, solid family background can set us on the right path. And what I read here is deep gratitude and love for your parents. I enjoyed the honesty and freedom of your write not to mention the upbeat tone that everything will work out with love.

What a big challenge to cover an entire lifetime in just 150 words! You had a very interesting life with so many different jobs. Not everyone is an academic but you certain have a love for words! Sometimes the wrong teachers can ruin student life.
It's wonderful that you see the love from the beginning of life to the end! Best wishes in the contest!
Here are some suggestions/questions and you can decide how to use the info:
Through out my school years (Throughout) you get back 1 word!
I am so very glad they did, (remove "so" or "very") save another word.
My parents, my guides, my understanding of life (repetition of "My" is good for poetry not for prose. Need punctuation)
You taught me, to be gentle, (Who is the "You"?) If it is your parents then you could change the prior sentence to:
You, my parents gave me the understanding of life."
I worked many jobs, from, jackaroo, shearer, auditor, (no comma before jackaroo
