Yes, it's amusing that they are called bluebells when they really are purple bells. Same as blueberries, I love them but have never thought about this aspect. A lovely photograph to compliment your nicely done Zeno poem Debra.
cheers,
valda

Enjoyed your zeno poem, Debra! Yes, sometimes our words are misnomers. But I find that our blueberries are really blue - is it my cataracts? I agree those bluebells are more purple than blue.

Hi Helen :) Thank you for your kind feedback. I think the colours we see probably vary from person to person and plant to plant! The blueberries we get here are a very dark purple :)

I enjoyed your indecisiveness here over the colour of blue bells that look sort of purple too, a fun post Debra and bluebells are delightful blooms, love Dolly x

Hi Debra, I, too, love bluebells. I don't know why? There's just something about them that draws me to them. Also, blue is such an interesting color to write about. Your poem has good sensory appeal, and it is a poem that many people can/will relate to. Perfect photo choice. A happy poem.
Well done. Margaret

A nice little philosophical zeno here, Debra, on the meaning and ambiguity of colour. You'd think if they were going to call them by these names, they'd be absolutely sure. Otherwise, call them something different:)) As ever, the sweetest 'postcard' post! Hope you're keeping well. Debbie xx

Hi Debbie :) Thank you for your lovely feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed reading my poem... Things are hard here right now for many reasons. I've taken some time from work which I didn't like doing, but it was necessary for my mental health. I hope to be back in a few weeks.
I hope that all is well with you :)
    Sending my love, Debra x

Love this little write about the ambiguity of colours. Sometimes labels for things or people can be deceptive.
The bluebells in my neck of the woods are indisputably blue. As for the blueberries, now I'm not so sure.Lol

Thanks for sharing this lighthearted post

Blessings, Julia

I think I have found some Bluebells that are blue but you are right, there are a lot that are not.

Good form. I never saw it before.

Well done
