Oh, wow! The intrigue you've got going now is quite amazing, Tony. What a shock to Ayesha to hear that her husband might still be alive. She's in denial now, but I wonder if deep down she rather accepts it. And what a shock to find out Carl is not the man she thought he was. Everything she thought she knew is turning upside down.

It will be exciting to see where this goes now.

Many thanks for your review and the sixth star. Both much appreciated.
Bruno is definitely dead but Major Kamul doesn?t know it.
    On the home stretch now.

I thought her hubby was really dead. He was fake dead first, then got really dead, if this just a ruse to get at her money? I am moving Saturday a lot of packing. Karen

Thanks for the review, Karen. Good luck with the move.
Ayesha?s husband really is dead, but Major Kamal doesn?t know it yet. Johnno was with him when he died but concealed the death by throwing him to the sharks. However, Ayesha now knows that the arm washed ashore had her husband?s ring on one finger. She hasn?t yet reported the fact to the police.

This is a good chapter, Tony, an Ayesha always seems to get into another web of deceit when dealing with the people who are supposed to help her. They seem to take pride in their efforts, especially when the victim claims innocence.

I like your "storm in a teacup" image. It sounds like Ayesha's husband could be in deep with the law, as well, but it is hard to tell because some of these people seem to create the truths they want people to believe. I hope that Ayesha can reach Steve Kraft, and they can clear up this mess.

Thanks for your kind words, Pam. ?A storm in a teacup? is a quintessentially British idiom! Bruno is definitely dead, and Ayesha can prove it, but at this stage Major Kamul believes he is still alive.
All the best to you both, Tony.

Wow, Tony, this quite a turn of events. So Ayesha's husband may still be alive! What a disaster that would be. You're spinning a wonderful tale, and I so enjoy it. What a story! All best, Ulla:)))

I would have thought that Steve Kraft would have been delighted to talk with Ayesha, but she got Ken Suttle, who has raised my suspicions about him in this, plus major Kamul in survival mode. How interesting? You've managed to thicken the plot exponentially. Beautifully written Tony, blessings Roy
Query : I thought Major Suttikul, was a colonel

Many thanks for your most supportive review, Roy. No, Suttikul was a major, but I?m thinking of upgrading the ranks as I understand that the chief of police in Phuket is, in fact, a colonel. All good wishes, Tony.

Hello Tony,
Now we get to the meat. There's been a great change of pace in the last two installments, really well handled.
I wish you well with this work as we appear to be rounding the corner and entering the home straight...
cheers

("Yaba" is a new one on me, and I had no idea that the word 'ganja' (whatever it means) was widely used in the east too.)

Thanks, Phill. Yes, we?re definitely on the homestretch now. These drug names are a bit of a mystery to me, but I gather that ganja is the common name for cannabis in Thailand.
Once again, I appreciate the affirmation of your sixth star.
    All good wishes, Tony.

I'm a little behind again, sadly. But your your clearly expressed notes and story always help to bring me up to date. The main development seems to be the suspicion that Bruno is alive and the ashes that Ayesha brought back to Australia weren't in fact his. This puts Ayesha in a difficult position of proving that he is dead if the business of probate is to proceed. This web of murder and intrigue shows no sign of abating and, meanwhile, Ayesha is innocently caught in the middle. As ever, excellent dialogue and pace of story with a great hook for the reader at the end as we wonder what will be Ayesha's next move. Thanks for sharing, Tony. Debbie

Thanks very much for your encouraging words, Debbie. There?s no doubt that Bruno is dead, but Kamul doesn?t yet know it, and Ayesha is the only one who can prove it. Doing so may put Johnno under suspicion of murder.

The shadow of intrigue seems to be growing here, as suspicion falls on Kraft now, and that line going dead suddenly. Is he mixed up in this for his own reasons? Questions about Bruno's death still seem to be hanging in the air. And henchmen from the drug trade seem to be hanging around too. The suspense is building again. estory

Another great chapter and now we have the backstory as to why Chanin behaves the way he does - drug addiction.
And poor Ayesha has to deal with Ken Suttle and his not so subtle insinuations about her possible part of the whole drug ring that her husband was involved in. I really liked "The facts fired up her synapses like a series of electric shocks." Hopefully, she won't have to prove her husband's death and Major Kamul won't try to have her killed!

Ayesha is in a dangerous place as she knows things a lot of bad men don't want her to know or talk about. Unfortunately, she doesn't realize what she knows. She is between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
