Focusing on the one idiom among many as a basis for your poem is a lovely way to convey the humourous side of the relationship between the two of you. Long live the mangled merriment, I say! :-)

thanks it has been fun we speak our own language 50 percent English 40 percent Korean and ten percent Spanish

That's a cute idea of messing up the idioms. I wonder if people even notice if you do that in front of them. Mountain out of a Molehill is a good idiom for the prompt!
