This is a well presented post with a relatable message colourfully contained within it. Why is it that it all seems so clear one minute and then all is forgotten the next? Well done for this! However I've just realised your first line is 6 syllables. Perhaps: Words flow (in) my head? Good luck! Debbie

Oh, I know the feeling. I hate when words and rhyme swirl around in my head keeping me awake, but deserting me when I wake up and want to write them down. Very nice entry for the contest. Best of luck.

If only we could record our dreams. I think your 5-7-5 will resonate with many here. Many have written about writer's block so you're not alone.
Maybe try "day" dreaming. Hope your muse returns.

yeah, waking up and writing them down helps. Sometimes when I feel empty of ideas I'll look at an object - like the candy dish - or think of something that made me laugh, or get angry, or hungry, or, the dear old news. or thoughts while stuck in traffic, etc. :)

Author,
It's almost like you need to write down your poem, thoughts and ideas telepathically so they are not forgotten while in sleep mode.

Hmmm, that may be a good story idea. A new invention. Theres probably something on the market already...

Nicely written and shared.

John

So true, we think of all sorts of helpful words for our poetry when we lay our weary head, but when we wake they have all disappeared! I can identify with your words here, love Dolly x

...or maybe missing in action. The good thing about this sort of block is that it proves the ideas are there... they just have to be given the kiss of life.

Well written 5-7-5 about creative juices. Funny and true. What's not to like. Very relatable. I have the same issue, so pen and notebook are always close by.

LOL! Thank you so much! Sometimes I'm lucky & inspiration strikes when I'm wide awake.
