Your last two lines are beautiful! I live near the ocean and often catch the sunrise - and the promise of a new day - on the beach. It's nice when we can slow down and take in the glory of a new day.

I find that I could give every one of your poems a six if I had an unlimited number. You're just that good.

Pam, that?s wonderful. Where we live in CT isn't far from the ocean, but I would love to be right on the beach someday. There?s just something about it, even the air.
Thank you for your review, you always make my day.

We lived in Vernon, CT for 26 years; Connecticut was too expensive for us to retire there.

Jessica, this is an exceptionally written poem. I enjoyed it immensely.
Life seems to start anew at sunrise. We can only pray that each sunrise will bring peace and love. Very well written. Willie

This was a beautiful entry and was highlighted by that spectacular photo. My wife and I enjoyed sunrise and sundown cruises and God never makes two just the same. Your words reflected the magnificence.

Very beautiful, Jess, and a good warning not to dwell too much on what might be, at the expense of enjoying what is. Such beautiful imagery you used to convey the beauty of the dawn with all its promise, something not to be missed because your mind is elsewhere. A good warning to us all.

Such a beautiful accompanying picture, and of course terrific rhyme and meter make this a superb poem. - Jim

This sonnet, Sunrise at the Dock, has the proper formatting and reminds the readers to embrace the dawn and rise with the daylight to achieve what can be done.

Oh Jess, this is by far one of your loveliest posts I have read in a long time,
What a beautiful sonnet and heavenly presentation and art.
You have dazzled so many, including me with your lovely way with words.
I think my favorite of the whole thing is your ending. Especially catch the coming sunrise at the dock. It brings back a memory of our cabin up in Northern Minnesota. The most beautiful country ever. But then that is my opinion. LOL
Thanks so much for this gorgeous sonnet. Lotsa love, Debi

Yes, watching sunrises at docks can be an amazing spectacle. The golden brown/yellow/red hues of the sky is spectacular. And the scenes are so serene and calming.
Good reading flow and rhymes to this well crafted sonnet. Good luck in the contest.
