Wendy,
I'm still smiling and chuckling inside as I can see this conversation play out as written (though one-sided). You made it easy to hear the missing voice of the husband.

I hope she enjoyed that bottle to the last drop.

And of course, thank you for the numerous plugs within your conversation.

Best of luck in the contest vote. A winner at my table!

John

Ah, thank you John. I am glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed writing it; it was fun. The voting is over, it scraped in at third, with few votes, but it doesn?t matter. It?s a greatly exaggerated account of our dinner time - my husband won?t wear his hearing aids. Lol. Many thanks for reviewing, very much appreciated.

Hi Wendy,
you crack me up!

I hope you indeed consumed that bottle of wine, you earned it. And hey I'm not condoning the consumption of alcohol, but sometime a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do to survive the night and situation at hand... and after cooking such a yummy sounding meal. Well of course it was, it's one of John's'!

All the very best wishes in this 'half a dialogue' writing prompt contest entry.

Still smiling... very creative and totally fun.... hmmmmm, funny!

With our thoughts we create...
the perfect ambience.

Kindest regards,
James.

Lol. I rarely drink wine, and never more than one glass, so it?s highly exaggerated, but based on reality. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Many thanks for reviewing, and especially for your generous six stars. I?m greatly honoured.

An excellent entry for the Half a Dialogue writing prompt. A conversation with someone who refuses to wear their hearing aid is definitely like having a half a dialogue lol Very well written and believeable as dialogue. Good luck

I laughed aloud at this piece. It reminds me of my Gammy. She can't hear it thunder. You did a great job telling the story with just one side of the conversation. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Your humorous half a dialogue is clever, and easily understood. I can understand your protagonist needing an entire bottle of wine after dealing with someone who refuses to wear hearing aids. If she spoke at a normal tone, he couldn't hear. If she spoke louder, she was accused of shouting. No way was the right way. The only thing left was to drink wine. Lol.

Lol. A super review. A highly exaggerated account of my life with a husband who won?t wear his hearing aids, (but I very rarely drink wine, and never more than one glass, lol.) Thanks so much.

This is hysterical and so very true to life. I can just see this scene playing out and yes, I would like a glass of wine with dinner. I said I am having wine with dinner. Yes, I am going to drink the whole bottle by myself.

This was a lot of fun to read and I'm certain write, it's was so real I could almost hear and see the couple together at the table. Luckily hearing aides were invented.

Thank you so much. Yes, it was a lot of fun. Based on reality but greatly exaggerated - my husband won?t wear his hearing aids, drives me crazy. Lol.

Classic and chillingly like some of the conversations between husband and wife in our house. I had no difficulty with filling in the gaps! A highly entertaining one-sided conversation.

I am so glad you enjoyed this one. It's a slightly (?) exaggerated and fictionalised account of what goes on here too. Thanks for reviewing.

That was well done. It's such a relatable story for anyone who has dealt with someone with hearing loss. You added just the right amount of humor and frustration to ake it real.

Thank you very much Thesis. Probably because it is a (greatly or slightly) fictionalised account of mealtimes in many homes, well, in mine. Lol.

I can relate to this story. Before I purchased my hearing aids, I was forever saying Huh, or What? I think you have used the writing prompt in an excellent manner. Best of luck in the contest.
