This was a poem that reminded me of someone depressed. The rain, a constant drum of drops. No sunlight in sight. Then there was the dying leaf. Petal by petal they fell. Much like hope when depressed. Beautiful and haunting. Gretchen

The act of dying happens leaf by leaf so they are not dry yet.

Hi Gypsy, Your poem has a lot going on ... The rain is on the outside looking in, while the flowers are stuck inside and yearning for the rain--almost like an unrequited love. Thus, a melancholic song indeed.
Perfect photo choice. Well done. Xo. M

Without ever mentioning the sadness, you show us the emotion just by describing the rain and the dying flowers. You always say a lot with just a few words!

The picture sets the mood and your well chosen words bring about a sadness at the death of a love that wasn't meant to be.Amazing how a few well chosen words can influence our thoughts. Well done.

At first this poem reminded me of 'Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head'. I don't know if you remember that song or not. I'm pretty sure the petals falling are a metaphor. I'm wondering if they aren't tears of from a heartbreak. Hmm. I did enjoy reading.
