Do you live by the ocean, my friend? I adore it! The idea of swimming with dolphins works for me, but so does the wisdom of this poem. Those first two lines say it all!

Yes, I live on the west coast of California.
Thank you kind friend for choosing the first two lines as wise. They certainly mean so much to me.
Have a good evening.

If I could, I would visit! (*smile*) California is one place I wanted to see and haven't. You're very welcome.

Smiles back at you.

This free verse poem delivers excellent inspiration to anyone who has ever experienced any type of disappointment, be it a failed relationship, loss of a job, or the rejection of a publisher. "Now you're out in the sunlight," are key words for me, meaning your future is ripe for pursuing all sorts of possibilities. I also like your final sentence which is filled with hope. The best is yet to come.

This poem, Awareness, slowly lets go of a relationship that was important, but is over. The next phase is to follow the dream and make it real. Reality has its potential for more dreaming.

Follow the dream and make it real. It sounds like good advice. Thanks for your insightful review. As always, reality has the potential for more dreaming.

Yeah, I can agree with this. Being aware and knowing the entire truth, good or bad, is far better than living in the shadows with the unknown or untruth. We can only move on, if we see everything around us and beneath us.
Well done.

This is so true. Moving on can only be done when we see everything around and beneath us. The truth will set you free.
Thanks for the positive feedback.

It is definitely true that many people are shy... or protected or even sheltered from outside social sources.
Sometimes it's hard to let go... both from those being protected or those being the protectors.
Hopefully each can let go snd usually everyone benefits in the long run.

Oh...I just love this poem! Especially your last line "to swim with dolphins where you belong". What a beautiful way to move on. You have a smooth poetic flow of words and lines that brings forth a positive feel in your poem. I like your theme of moving on, frequently we have to do that in life.

Yes, we often have to move on in life. I can think of no better way to move on than to swim with dolphins.
Thanks for your kind words.

Hi Jesse
This free verse poem uses line breaks well to tell us that ending a relationship is hard but it has to be put behind you to get the good things in life meant for you.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day.

I love a poem with a positive message and I feel you cannot get more positive than that; taking a moment that could be very negative and putting a positive spin on it. Great work.

Good morning, Jesse!
I so appreciate the positivity that you express in your well-crafted poem.
I especially appreciate the following perceptive and true sentiments:
Meaningful awareness
Often comes at a cost
~~~~~~~
Growth is coming, and I would choose to "swim with the dolphins" as well!
Thank you for sharing, Jesse!
Fondly,
diane
Good morning, Diane!
Wow, I'm so pleased to receive a six-star for this poem I can hardly contain my enthusiasm! You are so kind, my friend!
Yes, it often comes at a cost. Yet I choose meaningful awareness every time!
Growth is coming for both of us, I believe.
Thanks for this lovely review.
Take good care of yourself.
