Love me some Michael Jackson. No way that I can jot six star this excellent piece of history.

My favorite song is not one most pick. I really loved 'Man In The Mirror'. My second favorite was a little more main stream with 'Billy Jean''.

He certainly was one of the greats. As it your poem. Good job my friend!

I know I am always going to get a history lesson, plus an exceptionally written poem, when Debbie is at the helm. This is, in my opinion, one of your best so far. Michael Jackson and the Jacksons generally are without a doubt one of the most important influencers of modern day music. This is a fine tribute.
Thanks for sharing Deb.
Take care
Barry

I still remember stopping in my tracks to watch Jackson in the first MTV I had ever seen. It was Billie Jean that still remains one of the greatest pop songs ever, with its iconic bassline and moonwalk. The video was something entirely new and impressive beyond anything I had ever heard and seen in my life at the time.

I wish someone would've advised him about the possible outcome of that hinky stuff at Neverland. Maybe he wouldn't have listened anyway, but when you're a big star that means the envious and opportunists will be gunning for you.

And his doctor administering Propofol which is an intravenous anesthetic commonly used for general anesthesia during his comeback tour rehearsals is nothing like sleeping. Glad the doctor was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

I think it was the enormous pressure of fame in combination with an abusive background that was too much to handle. I also think it's important to remember that a massively successful album like Thriller is a hard success to exceed. That said, Billie Jean will forever be on my playlist.

Great job with this Debbie.

Thank you so much, Gloria, for this kind and well informed review! I was going to post Billie Jean but in the end opted for Man in the Mirror because I thought it said more about him. I could have done the two of course. Thanks again, Debbie

Excellent incorporation of MJ's and J5's hits including his father's viscous hands. Your video Man in the Mirror as much as I Love it's amazing message made me wonder why he decided to stop using his natural looks and conform to Hollywood Societies "Plastic Surgery" and Drug reliance ways to let the show go on. So many talented performers lost in the Bright Lights of Stardom

Thank you so much for your kind review and thoughtful comments. He was totally infatuated with Diana Ross and it's no coincidence, I'm sure, that he ended up looking so much like her and even taking female hormones (reportedly to keep his voice high but...) I agree with you, his natural good looks should have been enough but his father didn't help in promoting any self-esteem. Thanks again, Debbie

He was an incredible man-child, I loved his music and his dancing, he was simply amazing. It was so sad that he died the way he did, and I hope his father pays for his sins against his yougest son. I enjoyed reading your poem, Debbie, and your authors notes and the music. Such a huge loss to music. Well done, my friend, :) Sandra xxx

Thank you so much, Sandra, for this kind and supportive review! You sum him up perfectly here when you describe him as a man-child. He simply had no opportunity or example set to mature normally. It was all very sad. I hope you're feeling better. It sounded as if you were in good hands with that consultant. Take care Debbie xx

He rocked the world no doubt His moonwalk and 'beat it' was very popular even in the small towns of India..But the way he became the victim of his doctors greed...
Very well researched and beautifully penned.

Such a great poem on a childhood idol of mine, as I'm sure he was to a great many. A tragic soul tortured by the childhood that was so cruelly taken from him by someone who was meant to protect him from the horrors of the world, not become his.

Unfortunately those that rise to such fame as Michael Jackson and Elvis do not seem to find the happiness they seek. You show the Jackson's unnatural childhood well in this bio about Michael. His music lives on, Another good one from you Debbie,
cheers,

Thank you so much, Valda, for this very kind review! You're right about so many celebrities suffering this kind of unhappy childhood, impoverished in so many ways. Take care Debbie

Hi Debbie, my laptop keep going black...but I want to try and review this your poem/story told my sweet friend...

these brothers lives were doomed at birth...and the mother knew what
the father was doing the children...I read somewhere the father was
sexually abusing them...and the mother knew...they didn't stand
a chance...and the parents were taking the kids money from them...
one of the reasons Michael went on his own with his singing...the
same as the older kids...that they were always being beat for things
they never should have been...none were aloud to be children...
and do children things...how sad it was for them...

once again my wonderful friend...I love your poems...the way you
use the song titles...and I love your stories told beautiful girl...
sooooo very well written...and so very true...

Man In The Mirror is just one of my favorite songs Michael sang...
well done you...love you...Linda xxoo

You showed clearly with this tragic telling of Michael Jackson's wondrous talent and rise to fame coupled with the description of his tyrannical father. Generations to come will still moonwalk and sing his songs.

Thank you so much, Verna, for your kindness and support here! Yes, you're so right about generations to come appreciating his work. As with Elvis, it might take time for the pendulum to swing back again. Take care Debbie
