And that has to be the best of all, being at peace with God, and having a loving family to love and receive love from. You expressed it well. Fame and applause in this world contrasted with the lasting joys. Best wishes for the contest.

Hello :)
I enjoyed reading your poem.
Not all dreams come true, but the ones that really matter, do!
I like the structure of your poem, how you start and end each section in the same way. Nice imagery throughout and well presented too.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra

Isn't it beautiful to be able to dream, author? What passed for the past is gone down the line of dreams. But you created life being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. :) What more can one ask for. This is a good entry for the Free Verse Poetry Contest. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Your second sentence reads like poetry. That fits your name!

This is a very well written free verse poem. Many people were related to this, and you have descriptive imagery that will help the reader feel pulled into your words. In some way you are all of those things, I believe, but it is at the end When you express the most important thing that you are.

Best wishes

Alex

Thank you, Alex, for a wonderful review. In presence, I was all of them, but in reality, happiest being who I am.

I understand that. I am a mother and grandmother too. :)

I think this last dream was the happiest one of all. I'm so glad it worked out for you. Sometimes we all dream of grand things, but that's not what's important. I liked your poem very much. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I like this and this comment is not telling you to change the poem but I am left asking who were you, what did you do. I know this poem isn't about that but that is what I am left with. Who was this writer before being a grandmother?

I appreciate your review. You're right. I have a number of autobiographical poems where I told more of the story, but this was just to say the dreams I had while young didn't materialize, but I'm happy with what did. I didn't become famous, but I'm satisfied not to be. I was an English teacher for 37 years, a published poet, a mother, a wife, a mother of a son and daughter, grandmother to four, and great grandmother of 7--one just born yesterday. Still the most important was my happiness with the part I played in the family God gave me.
