Wonderfully written -- love the play on words at the end there! We only had a partial here, but my students thought it was awesome! Of course, it did get them out of class... lol!
Thanx for sharing!

Yes. I hope the darkness wouldn't last too long. Did you see it? I will try to see it next time. I'm busy having fun in my lake condo. I have friends who fly over to somewhere to see it. I might try to go to Iceland again in 2026 to see one.
Well done.

It's so true in so many different ways. We all love events like this, and your piece has a symbolic flare, which I'm not sure was intentional but was interesting nonetheless. Beautiful artwork here.

This is the third poem in a row about the eclipse. Yours is beautiful and the presentation too. Good syllables count and connection between lines.

Hi Kahpot, your poem is filled with good imagery. Of special note:
the darkest of days
(It may have been one of the darkest days, but it was also one of the brightest days ever because the Eclipse brought people together in peace and harmony.)
Perfect photo choice. Well done. Margaret

Wasn't it amazing to see? I sat out in the driveway and watched. It was a wonder. Your 5-7-5 described it beautifully, and that's a great picture. The darkness didn't last very long. That's something to think about. It something the children who saw it will never forget. Just think how many millions of people were doing the same thing--wearing their glasses and looking at the eclipse. judi

This was a great 5-7-5 poem on the eclipse. You got the syllable count right, and I loved how you used "shades of glass." Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Hi there, a well written 5-7-5 poem for the contest. It captures the event very well. A total eclipse is indeed the darkest of days. Good luck. Ulla:)))

I think the shades were made of plastic but I know what you mean. It was fun to see so many people looking up and enjoying this marvelous wonder of the alignment of Earth, Moon, and Sun. It was only a brief darkness! I hope you get to see an eclipse there someday. I couldn't from here - not this year.
