Janet, this is absolutely beautiful. I love the use of alliteration in the line that begins "As songbirds sing..." It has added depth, too, as expressed in the third verse, and this raises the whole into a wonderfully honest piece.

I know from your work that we have this love of our "beloveds" in common along with may other things.
I was concerned that the couplet was too common or familiar but it was my feeling as I wrote to cap off and end the poem.
It won 3rd place in the contest so I am thrilled.
