An excellent entry for the What is Truth writing prompt. A semi-philosophical/ semi-fantastical take on truth and it's meaning. I enjoyed the poem but it was the final line that did it for me. :-) Nice job. good luck.

I agree with you. That final line is a line I use every day - more than once. I love it. And, I had some real fun writing this poem. I got into it and it just kept flowing. Of course, I must give some credit to a nice Sauvignon Blanc I'd enjoyed at lunch. (There's "writer's block" and there's "writers rock!" Thanks for stopping by.

I thought this was so unique. Your poem is an enjoyable read. I could feel the passion. The opening lines seem to play on "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" to share the message that truth is really subjective. Great job.

Glad you could feel the passion. I think I was feeling some Sauvignon Blanc I had enjoyed at lunch. I really got on a roll there, had a great time writing it, and read it to myself a few times laughing. Full disclosure: I am a Texan, so "truth" has never stood in my way in telling any story. Great poem for this prompt. I love that you didn't get all hateful on one candidate, but examined a larger, deeper issue.
Not really that important, but the expression is "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" (not eyes).
