Good haiku about endangered species. good use of poetic techniques.

for some reason I associate this poem with an experiment that was done in an African Game park.

Researchers made recordings of various animals including lions roaring, hyenas laughing and humans talking, and posted near a water place.

then had cameras record the reaction of passing animals. the animals were most terrified hearing human voices.

There are a number of politicians I'd love to see on an endangered list and go away.
All kidding aside, your 5-7-5 is spot on to the endangerment of do many species. Man has taken it upon himself in his own greed for the almighty $$ to destroy the animals. Equally wrong are those buying these limited supply of whatever they're killing the animals to get.

This makes me so angry as I am 1000% against hunting and guns in general.

Overall an excellent post, Debbie accompanied with your detailed notes.

Thank you,
John

Thank you so much, John, for this wonderful review! More than anything I hate the assumed macho side to this killing spree and always hope that the animals will turn on them in the most cruel way! As ever, your kindness and thoughts are greatly appreciated. Take care Debbie

Let's hope you and your gifted writing never become an endangered species. Thank you for posting this and remind us of our obligations to the wonderful creatures with which The Lord has endowed us.

It is so sad that there are many species that are endangered partly because of what we humans have done. Your poem paints a vivid picture at just how fragile life can be. An excellent piece of writing Debbie.

An excellet entry for the 5-7-5 poetry contest. The syllable count meets the criteria. A gentle reminder of all the endangered animals in our world and how that losing even one of them would be heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much, Marilyn, for your kind and thoughtful review! Someone said that every animal we lose in this way, we advance our own endangerment one step closer. It's a thought. Take care Debbie

This beautiful silkscreen print shows how the influence of Andy Warhol's pop culture can improve the awareness of endangered species and how they need protection from dying off altogether.

Ciao!

I wrote a couple of short poems about endangered animals too. It is so sad that the list just keeps on getting longer instead of shorter.

There are only two Northern White Rhinos in Africa left and they are mother and daughter ..the last male died a couple of years ago.

We should be focused on leaving future generations a healthy and thriving planet, instead, we are failing our children big time.

I like the poster and I can see Andy Warhol's trademark.

This is a delightful 5-7-5, enriched by your trademark information. It's an amazing silkscreen print, and it compels one to look, think, and be challenged. I very much like your word choices "crafted in beauty" and the linking of crafting with "fragile" artistry. The animals are fragile in terms of continuation; they are created with perfect artistry and the silkscreen print would have been a delicate process too. Very beautiful. Best wishes for the 5-7-5 contest - it's a very worthy entry.

As usual your notes truly shine and provide a wonderful wealth of knowledge to accompany your piece.

Lines 1 and 2 of your piece are strong. I personally am not sold on the common practice of a hyphen after the second line, followed by the a third line lacking a verb. It just feels like a sprinter lined up for a race who hops off the starting block to drink a beer. I know others love this style. But here are three ways I might do your third line:

FIGHTING TO SURVIVE

GONE BEFORE THEIR TIME

SEE THEM ONE LAST TIME

The other thing I am not really sold on is the light blue background. I think it might help if your text stood out more. Personally I would go white text on black background. This would make your picture pop a lot more. If you keep it as is, I would suggest at least making your font bold if you are using a script font.

Thanks for the read! With the edits I suggested I would have given this a six thanks to your killer notes.

Firstly, you're not Harambe for President reincarnated by any chance? Because you have a similar profile presence and I went looking for him the other day but couldn't find him:( Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review! I may well change the background to an ivory colour which is where I started. As for the third line, your suggestions are good but, because there's hope for some who've actually recovered from endangered as a result of legislation and, in no small part, Warhol's push, I still prefer the idea of fragility (again referring to delicate artwork) rather than spelling it out too obviously. But any suggestion is always greatly appreciated! Debbie

Officially, I can neither confirm or deny that observation ; )

I see a good number of bald eagles around now. A few weeks ago when I was in New Hampshire, two of them tried to attack my dad's chicken coop. It's a pretty neat piece of artwork. I think the USPS issues some stamps recently with endangered species, and I might have bought some...

This piece brings to light the loss of so many animals. Everyday there is an animal lost that we can never bring back again. It is a shame and we should take more care of the creatures of the Earth.
