This is a frightening trip down memory lane. To make it unforgettable, dig into the emotion. So much opportunity to build emotion, tension, suspense. Put the reader on the battlefield to see, hear and smell what you see, hear and smell. I would leave out a little of the technical details to concentrate of pulling the reader into the story. Thank you for your service.

The story has moral lesson. Luck and Bad luck is not the reason to fight. As long as you want to fight you will give your all chances for winning. Trust the process and trust God.
