This is another excellent chapter. The hook at the end is so good, as usual.I know 'there is another chapter for me to read today. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Hello...sorry it's been so long since I posted, but I got caught up in a new story idea and it seems to own me at the moment. I thank you for the review...but I see you jumped to the end...did you miss the chapters?
Thanks again...Carol

You've set the stage for the next scene, then left us impatiently waiting to find out what's next. You do it so well. Almost too well for this old boy. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, of course. I have finished the last two chapters but I need to answer reviews and read, read read so I can post. I'm anxious to get it done now. Lots of words. LOL

I am saving a six for the last one. You can go out with a bang. You are going to have a really long 19, or you will need a chapter twenty. This is great writing, tell me who discouraged you, and I will go sit on them and bounce a few times. That will take the starch out of them! Karen :-)

No problems! The encouragement far exceeds any other suggestions. And I think you are right about needing chapter 20. If you care to help me out, I'll pm you with the things I thing I need to cover and you can fill in what I missed. But don't feel you have to do it. I'm also wondering if I wait to post the final chapter on Sunday like most writers do. Smiles, Carol

Ah, the tension,it never ends. Looks like Alyssa might hear about Troy from some-one else after all. And it looks like there will be a dramatic showdown in the chief's office. Perhaps the handcuffs will come in useful for himself rather than Alyssa. Well written. An exciting read.

Aaaargh! And Troy was so close! I'm on pins and needles here, Carol. I want romance to win out, Harrison to be thrown out, Garth to just....(smile) ...be GARTH and sort the rest out!
I'm thrilled for your accomplishment but man...I have mixed feelings about this ending!
Awesome...

You and me both....it was difficult to write the ending. I have one long chapter and the other isn't so bad. I've got to learn to just stop...make a break...but I can't. I love the cliff hangers. Just under 49,000. Ugh! I love the book though!

You have again given us great characters doing interesting things. I am on painkillers so I could be wrong, but I think you had Chief interrogate Layla in yesterday's submission (#17). Then he interrogates Layla twice today (#18), once with knowledge that the FBI is going to interfere and once he speaks to FBI agent first before interrogation. I hope you are getting some sleep.

Painkillers? That sound like aching bones. Hope it's not too serious. He never starts or finished the interrogation because he gets interrupted and the FBI shut him down. Then he tries to pull a fast one and start and finish it before they arrive. Sorry I confused you. Finished the chapters today...but I needed to answer these reviews and then read, read, read to get some posting money.

I know that feeling about getting posting money.

Of course. I love crime stories where the twists and turns keep me guessing. It keeps getting better and better! You carry much of the story on dialogue which keep the reader engaged. Esther

I apologize for being behind, but the story consumed me. I just finished the last two chapters...for real this time. Now to proof and then read, read, read, so I can post. Thank you so much for the awesome review.

I have been working and gardening, so writing took a back seat for a bit.

Writing is done so now I answer reviews and earn some money to post.

I enjoyed envisioning the segment in the interrogation room so much I went back to enjoy it a second time. You relentlessly know how to keep the tension high. This is another stellar chapter.

I've been waiting for you, Lorraine! And it definitely was worth the wait. Thank you so much for the review and for enjoying what I wrote. And reading it twice....you go, girl. Well, I've got one more chapter to tie it all together I think...got to research a few legal things about arresting some one, etc... I'm thrilled you loved it!

I can see you're angling to pull this narrative together, to finally pour the sauce on the end game, bringing great satisfaction by shutting down Chief Harrison's blustering ways. And bring Troy, Allie and Layla in the same room together, well done Carol, great post, blessings Roy
