ooh this was so good!
deeply thought-provoking about the after affects of war
with more people could read this... and listen to the ticking bomb...
great imagery and smooth flow through the lines
thank you for sharing

Yes, war destroys everything, but it can't destroy God's love for His people. I do wish our governments would learn that was doesn't solve anything. Thank you for sharing, yet, another beautiful presentation.

What an excellent subject, all there seems to be is war, and it is time for it all to end, so many people, especially children just gone, very well written****kahpot

Hi Gypsy, your poem is very timely. Nothing is sacred. When it comes to war, there are No winners. Your poem has good sensory appeal. Of note:
only bared trees left
to tell the story
(Good imagery. Who knows if the trees will ever bud again?!)
Perfect photo. Well done. Xo. M

This breaks my heart. So very sad, and I hate what war does to people, to any place, but a church is so horrible. Thanks so very much for the very touching and very sad poem.
And also thanks for posting the Arts prompt. I totally enjoyed writing about my favorite poem from third grade. Hope you like it too. I will be back to look at your other one tonight. Love, Debi

That's so sad. And there are many old churches that have stories to tell especially the ones in Europe where no one attends so they use the buildings for shelters for refugees and homeless. Great scene described in your poem!

Thank you very much, big sister. In Spain we have beautiful basilicas, cathedrals, and churches. They have good attendance. I wish I could take you on vacation. We have so much history and ancient buildings... castles, cathedrals, etc
Thank you 😊

I wish we could go on vacation together, too. In Brussels, the churches were all dilapidated and unattended. People started having church meetings in bars instead.

Congratulations on your winning!

There have been many churches that have been left in ruins when it came to being involved with war. That's a shame because the church is the one place where we should be able to go and not have to worry about war. Patricia .

This poem has only a few words but is so incredibly sad, especially in today's political climate around the world. The picture is perfect. Thank you for sharing.
