This is another excellent chapter. You are good at creating villains. I wonder what that says about you. LOL I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

I either deal with a lot of villains or I am actually one myself and just don't know it yet. LOL
    Thanks so much!

I'm reading backwards but is okay the story is so captivating that I want to read everything promoted or not. Layla is playing now detective
. Interesting to see who is friend and who is foe.

Now the pieces are really coming together. I was shocked when I found out Antonio's contact person was Tommy. But Alyssa confided in Tommy that she saw a picture in the deceased cop's box of papers. That meant Alyssa knew too much and had to die. Now, what's the scheme with Father Williams. Wow! You keep the story moving in unexpected directions..

    Hello, Lorraine.
Tommy's days are numbered though he doesn't know yet. He thinks he slipped by...Who's coming down next? Interesting to see.

I enjoy everything you write, but I must say this story is so far my favorite of your posts yet. And I can hardly wait to find out where the next chapter will take us.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh, thank you. I was afraid I was pushing it too fast because of the timeline restraints. You know me...I need lots of chapters to get my characters to do what I want them to do. I enjoyed this chapter too. Mama Cichella likes being in charge. LOL Smiles and hugs, Carol

Good, a bullet to his head, he has my full approval. I'm worried about Layla, Richard isn't going to put up with that, he's obviously a nasty, possibly, bent cop, who had Sandra killed. You're not good for my blood pressure, my friend!! Well done!! Love and hugs, Sandra xx

You should see my blood pressure when I write it. LOL They had to put a heart monitor on me. LOL Can't wait for Richard to realize he's caught.

Carol, well, who do we trust? Nobody. I guess we will not be seeing Antonio anymore. That's one way to cut down on the characters. This a good chapter that moves the story along nicely. Terry.

Good morning, Terry. Glad you enjoyed this chapter...Sorry being married to an Italian for a great many years kind of got the "tough guy" engraved. LOL Thamks so much for continuing to follow.

So, we'll never hear from Antonio again, he was told by Tommy to take a hike, but not not necessarily in the river deep, And Layla always drives to try to find her sister, not trusting the police to do so, well done, blessings Roy

Antonio could be swimming with the fishes by now. And if Layla isn't careful, her headstrong ideas might get her in too deep as well. Our fashion designer has no idea what this part of the world looks like. Guess she'll either sink or swim...with a little help.
    Thanks, Roy. Smiles, Carol

Some men folk do you wrong sweetie pie? I could think of a few I would like to whack with a sledgehammer. If I could weld one. Many men are woefully ignorant of women, and how we think and act. Good writing. Karen :-)

    Good morning, Karen
I've had a sleepless night and have decided this story needs to slow down a bit...everything is moving too fast and there's no time for the nice stuff. I don't know if I can fit it into the timeline but I know I need to do it justice. Thanks for following and being my support.

This was an exciting, jam-packed chapter. For such a nice woman you have a real talent for capturing the mob mentality. (Were you secretly in the mob once?) Kidding...

It's fast moving, had me holding my breath AND gasping for air!

You're covering all the twists and turns!

Karenina

This was one of my favorite chapters. Now what does that say about me? It's wasn't what was going on exactly, it was how I got to paint a picture of that moment. Being married to an Italian for almost 25 years gave me more insight than I ever wanted. LOL Now there could be a story.... probably not. Love ya, Carol

People are starting to die that are part of the old neighborhood gang. Layla seems like she could get herself killed as she doesn't even know her sister's profession.

Layla is in over her head...she wants to find her sister but has no idea what the backstory is for any of this. Like walking in to a movie and it's half over. Thanks so much for continuing to read and enjoy. I appreciate your time and thoughts.
