Another fine poem, Gypsy----if my if I was a lover/ surfer I'd have been caught in a rip tide and dragged miles out to sea and the searchers would find my sun-bloated carcass washed up on some beach a few days later!

Whether fiction or not, I love to imagine you having this relationship with someone. And since I know that rips means a job well done, all of these terms mean your lover certainly has a happy and successful life. I hope that is what you live too, my dear friend. I hope that some of this is true for you too, as it is another one of your beautiful poems, in words and presentation.

Loved it and wish I had six stars. Thanks so much for sharing.

I am not sure if you saw that I joined your depression and sadness prompt this week. Mine is called Reliving the loneliness of Covid or something like that.

I have always wanted to attempt surfing. I'm a strong swimmer, but grew up in Illinois, sort of landlocked, so learning to surf wasn't really an option. LOL Maybe as an old lady, I'll learn. Oh well, dreaming again. I enjoyed your entire presentation.

I definitely understood the surfer lingo. My husband used to surf. He hasn't been out in over a year. But he loved it. Said it was out there that he felt closest to God. Loved this one. Gretchen

i love watching surfing!
this was a great poem about the surfer and his waves...
tubular and gnarly imagery with word flow about the crest

cool - thank you for sharing
shelley :)

Enjoyed all your surfing metaphors for life. Yes, there are many unpredictable things in life like the waves and the ups and downs that don't always go as planned. But we can cheer each other on to "always come down on top!"

Alas, I cannot swim. You have true feelings for your writing that stand out right away. These days, my reviewing is slow. I am
hibernating. My pain is such that I am taking my aspirin whenever I wake up after fours or more of sleep. I am keeping track of my dosage times. Then, I drink some liquid, eat a pouch of tuna, and crawl under my heated blankets and pads. Off to sleep I go, Karen :-)

Another enjoyable poem. For me it captures what love is in a unique way. Not a surfer - but can relate to the poem. Love the imagery of riding the highs and lows. Yes that is how it goes. Very creative. Makes you think!
