Creek bed runs dry

Ciao mystery poet, you now have two votes.
When seasonal rainfalls arrive the desert landscape comes alive as the dry stream beds fill.
Firstly, tiny creeks form, and within hours they can become gurgling, bustling streams.
And where there is water there is life. The flora flourishes and birds and other wildlife appear.
But the birth, life, and death of these streams happen in the lapse of a season.

I thought you did a great job of describing a dry creek bed. The word choices are perfect. This says a lot with just three lines. I think it's an excellent entry to the contest. Good luck!
