Hi MariVal,
'life of my life'... it holds that perfection of ancient language within its tone and is a perfect segue into the passion that is to follow.
The first verse pauses my need to read further until I have digested its meaning fully... it is both all consuming and has an emptiness of a hollowness within.
Always holding firm to hope as desire trumps all emotion, time and space. What a wonderful thought and sight... a myriad of luminous stars!
It just adds to the visual you paint with your words allowing it to have a feeling of infinity.
There is such beauty within lingering in words that hold a forever in a beating heart.
I truly love your free verse poems, life 'in' my life:)

Wow, what a stunning visual and how well your verse complements the atmosphere and sensuality. To me, it speaks of poignancy and loss, a soul mate who comes and goes but is forever present in the universe. The last stanza is superb. Well done, Gypsy! Debbie

for some reason i kept reading the last line as "a myriad of luminous stars"
and "myriad luminous stars" just sounds... off...
or it could be just me lol
thought i'd mention it though
wonderful imagery throughout the poem
cool pics and great colour scheme
smooth flow from line to line (well, until the last line - but that could be just me lol)
nice... thank you for sharing

You are the master of the haiku. Even though this is not a haiku, your words provide a sensual, haunting image. The photo and presentation are outstanding. When I read the poem, I thought of the Harry Chapin song, Circle. If you ever consider using a video with this poem, think about that one. Wonderful work. Terry.

This is a well done free verse which gives a feeling of searching for God.
We often lose faith and have to find it again. But we all want the reward we get in the end if we are faithful.
