Your selection of picture is graphic and arresting. Your poetry is concise and haunting. Easter is upon us. Have a great weekend and enjoy better weather. Karen

I can't find the explanation of what differentiates a Ukiah from a Haiku. I guess I need to join the club!
Anyway, there's nothing back-to-front about your poem, except the inference that six weeks out of fifty-two isn't really enough. Perhaps forty-six weeks would be better!

Thanks, Tony,
Yes we do need to remember His sacrifice more often than we do.
I have learned a lot in this club and then other clubs I have entered
I realized I have to go back and rewrite this because I missed that it was supposed use mono-rhyme. I will repost a new one when I correct it.

Hi Joan,
I applaud your poem, remembering Christ's sacrifice on a Roman cross.
Have you ever heard Wendy Francisco's song, "Where Is The Lamb"? Please, search for it in Youtube. It tells the story of Abraham's obedience in sacrificing his son, Isaac... and how it compares to God allowing Jesus to be crucified for the sins of the world. Abraham didn't have to go through with his offering, but God did. And Jesus paid the price for all mankind.
Can I offer a suggestion to your poem?
"six weeks every year some
remember one man's
agony, death, and rebirth." ... (I suggest,
for six weeks every year
we recall one man's
agony, death, and rebirth )

I've been involved in Gospel music since I was 25 years old, Joan, so there are a lot of songs in my pointed head. Here's another oldie for Easter. I hope it blesses you as much as it has me. Search Youtube for it. It's called "A Broken Heart" by Dallas Holm.
Blessings,
Kimbob

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. It's sad that only for six weeks every year many people only remember the one who died for our sins. He should be remembered every second of every day. I enjoyed reading.

It's such a beautifully worded piece, dp. I try to remember Him every day. It becomes easier as the world around us gets more difficult to bear.
Thank you for this post! Best, JohnC

Thanks for the nice review, John. You are so right that we need strength from faith to bear are the war and physical violence.

excellent short sweat re-telling of the foundational myth of Christianity capturing in a few short lines the passion of the Christ. Perfect timing for Easter

This is a reverse haiku isn't it? And yours is a very impressive one for the club, beautifully presented, and fulfilling the brief. Your fine words, inspired by faith, flow very pleasingly in this verse form. Well done, Joan. Debbie
