What an amazing and heartwarming story this is! You captured this story so well in your lovely verse and I sincerely hope that you can come to England soon to meet James. I wonder whereabouts he is ?:) My selection. Well done! Debbie

Thank you for sharing this story.

I like how you composed the story to lead the reader through the poem. You planted a question in my mind at the beginning, a question that was well and truly answered by the end of the poem.

This is a wonderful ode to your brother. The poem reads and flows well. Glad you had an opportunity to talk to him. I liked the rhyming throughout the poem. Hope you get to meet soon. Nice poem.

I've read them all, and I liked yours best because it was more meaningful to me. It's hard to believe a mother would leave a child of three and never look back. Very sad. I hope you get to meet your brother one day--soon. Good luck in the competition.

I'll have to send you a virtual six for this poem. A very touching write. So glad that you found a brother to love. Such great words you chose to bring your brother to the surface of knowing him.

Oh my goodness! I imagine it had to be hard to leave a little one behind. I couldn't have done it. Desperate people do desperate things, this we know. I'm glad to hear you were reunited (by correspondence) with your brother, James. I'm hoping you'll meet in person, and soon. Sending you my best today as always and my very best in the Ode contest.
Sally :))

Wow. I guess mothers during war times make the best decisions they can. Who knows? We might not be able to imagine, sure, but we were not in those shoes. God is Good though and through so much, He brought your brother to contact you. May you two meet sooner than later and be blessings to each other.

Best wishes,

Alex

Wow, what a find. Your brother found you after all these years and what joy you feel even though he lives across the world someday the two of you will meet and embrace as only brothers do. I am so happy for you and yet sad for the loss of knowing James while growing up. I know you will find things in common and rejoice in brotherhood for all mankind.
This is a feel-good story and an ode to James as well.
Jesse
