What a tragic but all so real dilemma faced by so many young people today. Are we at fault, or is it just the impossible expectations we place on our kids? This truly is an exceptional write.

I also wrote for "Despair on the Street." I liked your poem written in the first tense. These young people are becoming a common sight and violence-driven. Drugs fuel their unacceptable behavior. Look to the parents I say.

Dragonpoet, this sounds an awful lot like some one may not be opposed
to an intervention of some type, if given a chance...For any number of reasons you perceive that you are unapproachable, and that others don't
want to approach you for their on reasons and/or perception(s). A tricky
situation, but you have limned your "case" beautifully in the last two stanzas. teafor2

A very powerful poem that echoes the picture used to accompany it. The rhymes work well and the words flow nicely. A strong message about those living on the street and how it's up to us to ignore the fear and help them and in doing so we help ourselves and society in general. At least that's what I got from it. I could be wrong lol. Nice job.
