I loved this. It spoke to my heart. I once had silhouettes of my two children but they were lost in my many moves. I had forgotten about them until I read your entry. I wish I still had them and feel sad that I don't. Your words invoked a real feeling in this reader, and that is proof of an excellent writer. I wish you well in the contest.

I think a septolet poem is supposed to have seven lines, when this one only has five. You did have the right number of words, though. I do think your poem was nice. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is a lovely take. I think that septolets are so limiting, and yet you made it feel full-bodied and rich. Photographs, cameos, mementos of all sorts... that really is what they are. Excellent job!
