Hi Navada,
Did I hear correctly, there is a storm brewing in the Melbourne area? You're near there? I hope all is well.
We've had 5 cats over the last 20 years... Max, Roger, Angel, Chico, and Ray-Ray. We only have one left, Ray-Ray. We had to put Angel and Chico down in 2023. They were around 15 years old. Poor Roger, our Maine Coon, was so big... but a gentle giant, black with white markings on his face and chest. We lost him three years ago. It's so sad to have to put a pet down, but we didn't want them to suffer. That's the hard part of having a pet.
Even a simple cat tree is expensive. I can't imagine how much you paid for your "Funky Hollow". It sounds like every cat's dream. Chico ruled the roost when he was with us. He'd definitely be up on the very top.
I enjoyed your story very much! Thanks for sharing!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you so much, Kimbob! Yes, Melbourne has been hit hard by the storms and the Grampians National Park, close to where I grew up, is on fire. So far we're okay here in Shepparton.

I am not surprised there is cat furniture, excuse me, I mean good cat furniture. We have had bad cat furniture for years.Plastic and shag fake fur in neon colors. Good story. Karen

Thanks, Karen! Yes, they are a bit spoilt, these boys. :)

Wow, this is quite a product it doesn't look anything like my cat tree. It's much more plush more detailed more creative. But I am of the thinking that goes with the time warning saying "never look a gift horse in the mouth." My wonderful cat tree came with dear Sammy boy from his foster mom who was my nunmate. It's written about in my Bea part 3. I was waiting for the proverbial "but" but none came. It sounds delightful.

You are certainly guilty of spoiling your dear animals, I have friends who have bought elaborate scratching posts for their cats, and those dear fur balls still ruined the furniture, as did ours, beautifully written dear girl, blessings Roy

What a great story about a great cat tree, literally in the shape of a tree. Looks like it was really made with care, and I can see how your cats have loved it. What we do for our cats!

Our cat wants so much to be an outdoor cat, which we let him be for a brief time until he started getting into fights. So we made the decision to buy him an outdoor cat enclosure which includes a large, 4-foot square tent with a long tunnel leading away--all made of sturdy netting he can see through but not escape from. He still gets to spend much of his day outside, but he's safe in there, and he can't get into any danger or mischief unless he escapes through a hole he's managed to make in it a couple of times. But we just sew them up or pin them shut, and he's good to go again. - Jim

Brilliant strategy! I thought about getting a cat enclosure but decided to go with the Funky Hollow instead. Since my cats have been raised from tiny kittens to be indoor cats, they've never tried to go outside and never nagged me to do so. :)

My daughter's cat is the same way--no desire to go outside at all. Archie, on the other hand, takes every opportunity he sees to sneak out. We have to be very careful when coming into the house to watch for him, because he will hear us coming, sit near the door, and scoot right out if we're not paying attention. Little stinker!

I'm glad that you were able to invest in that cat furniture back then and it's still getting great use. We bought a cat "condo" which is plush and should be well used but instead our cat prefers that we make tents out of the sofa and armchair. It's awkward when guests come with no place to seat them!

Sounds like the investment in this has well and truly paid off. Your own furniture is intact, it coordinates well with your home, and is the source of endlesss pleasure for Oskar and Harley as well as for Sally and Mindy in the past. Lovely story, and well written.

Do they ship all over, like even to the USA? After seeing this and reading your full and clear descriptions of the product and company. this sounds like something we would like for our cat, Brady. I'm expecting not to be able to get one, nor have it shipped. but it's adorable. What luck about your home carpet in that room that matches so well. It's beautiful!

Best wishes,

Alex :)

Looks cool!
Well written chapter.
This is probably worth the money when you factor in the cost of a destroyed living room couch (sofa, divan), or a mangled carpet. plus, it 'is' an attractive addition to the room and provides all the other features that you mention.
Best wishes.

That is a totally cool cat tree! Is the picture you took a recent picture? Does it look like that after all these years with your other cats? If so, it is in amazing condition.

"divide the hollow truck" (trunk?)

Very well written story. I'm enjoying the journey. Julie :-)

Whoops! Thanks so much for picking up on the typo - will fix! Yes, I took this picture a couple of months ago to show my new breeder when visiting the boys for the first time. :)
