It's a sad thing to say, but half of the wildlife species have disappeared in the last 50 years. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

It's a while since I've written one of these, Tom, and I appreciated the refresher on structure. You appear to have nailed it. I thought the development of the sestet out of the two quatrains was particularly well done.

Love your poem. The picture is so beautiful. Goes well with your poem. Where I live, there used to be quite a bit of area for wildlife. The man that set it up passed away and the new owner destroyed most of the areas. It was quite a bit of acreage. What a shame.

Thank you Brenda. I am so sorry to hear that the new owner destroyed such valuable environment. I appreciate your review and comments.

This is a well-crafted poem. Yes, man's incursions have taken away some natural beauty. Your poem delivers a clear message. Your last stanza concludes this poem perfectly. Your picture compliments this poem nicely. Nice poem.

Your poem is very nice when read aloud and I enjoyed it very much. Your notes are very educational and you've presented me with a lot of information that I have no idea what you're talking about. It is very evident by your notes that you are
very up on the working of different formats of poetry. Patricia.

I enjoyed your poem very much, Tom, and agree, we are losing so much now. Where I live we have a lovely nature reserve, it's new and when builders took some land, they were told they could build but had to make sure nothing interfered with the reserve, and they had to have areas of green wildlife and also parks for people to use. It's really lovely. I believe this is now going to happen wherever new housing estates are going to be built. I love that photo you took, those places have to be protected. Well done, my friend, I enjoyed your poem. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you very much Sandra. I was delighted to hear about your reserve and future zoning. It shows that nature is valuable and can be accommodated. Thanks for the read and good review.

Absolutely fantastic explicatory notes. That sure looks like a most awesome and beautiful preserve. I hope they protect it.
Animal extinctions threaten daily. The planet needs to find a balance. There is room for all.
