Wow! This is really a powerful poem. I can feel the strong emotions and hurt that lead one to feel this way. Your words really touched me in a deep, deep way. The pleading at the end was so powerful!

Thank you, Alexandra. I very much appreciate your kind and thoughtful review. Many years have passed and I'm doing well, it's more a memory now that surfaces less often. Not sure why I thought to write about it now. Thanks for the offer of your shoulder.

Thank you, Brenda, for reading and your comments. Yes, today is scary and who knows what tomorrow will bring. The entire world is so unsettled by people who want power over all. I think it's time to bring our people home to protect our own country. It's hard to watch the news. God Bless.
