What a clever way of engaging the reader in this story! I love the repetition of 'me' and how it seems to take on a different, somehow less strident meaning to 'I' but, nevertheless, an important one. There will never be another 'me' so celebrate that privilege for all it's worth. As Oscar Wilde said: "Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." This is a very thought-provoking and well expressed story which I enjoyed. Thank you for sharing, Dick. Debbie

Thank you, Debbie, for reading this story and for the very nice review. If by chance, or otherwise, it makes a difference in one life; it will be worth it. It is hard to imagine not being here. Thanks again for my life.
Best regards,
Dick

Oh yes, the one thing I've never regretted was helping in the process of creating life, the lives of my two girls, who have been part of my purpose, and from them has come the next generation, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Dear Dick, This story is similar to what happened to me when I made a "little old me" (my son). His father and I never married, but I gave my son his last name. His father never met him, thanks to the difficulty I was having with the state agency (DSS, now DCF). But I'm glad I made him, he turned out to be a writer just like me! Dove

Thank you, Dove, for reading this story and the nice review. Thanks also for sharing your own experience with your son. It's hard to imagine not being here, but we are given a gift and should cherish every day. I certainly do.
Thanks again and best regards,
