A story in a story. Very well imagined! The narration (Jane's story) overlaps with the story embedded in it (Grandpa's story/memory)... Simply told but with good vibes and a dose of emotion and nostalgia.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a writing story entry about a someone writing a story entry. I can't say that is a new idea. Your editing and structural writing is fine. But there isn't anything to stand out, to grasp the readers, to engage them.
