Shouldn't it be January's ? Just asking. You have a very lovely picture there. And the lack of color in your matting shows us the bleakness we can feel surrounded by cold. Good work. Nice poetry. Karen

The image is very serene with this vision of stillness and pale sunshine, which is seen as a sign of hope and change. Best wishes for your entry in the contest.

Winter has been frigid here and it looks like the image, no sunshine to speak of just downright wintry weather. Everyone is looking forward to spring and the start of the countdown.

Nice juxtaposition of contrasting colors and moods pallid sunlight versus wintry doldrum. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest and with your writings.

Excellent title for this one. Sometimes people just vanilla the perfect title and you hit it here. Picture is good too.
This should be a contender. Your words are well- placed and work well together. Most enjoyable!

This is a hopeful write in twelve words about the glint of sunshine chasing off the winter blues. It would need more than a glint for me ð???
Well done and good luck in the contest.

Very well done here! I love the imagery and the archaic words you used... you've written something beautiful, and painted something beautiful in our minds as well.

Extremely atmospheric and mesmerising! How I can relate to that pallid sun this time of the year that seems to lack any depth whatsoever of much needed warmth, albeit it still beckons and even bestirs! Love that word 'doldrums' which sums up so much of our wintry lethargy and desire to join other creatures in their glorious hibernation! Well done and good luck! Debbie
