...the dandizette has my head spinning with the explanation of its format.

Congrats on getting it written. I'm guessing the guilty pleasure was the soaps being watched?

My wife still watches General Hospital, close to 60 years now,

Good stuff...

    Hi John,
Yes, the guilty pleasure was the soaps. I stopped watching them when All My Children went off the air. Though at my worst I was watching the ABC based soaps from 12pm - 3pm during the summers.
My sister still watches GH too.

Interesting how you assembled this piece. It kind of reminded me of the way soap operas were telecast. I remember someone getting into a cab on Monday and finally on Friday they arrived at their destination. That's when I stopped watching as my life was more exciting. LOL Dandizette, I don't think I've ever heard that word before. I wonder is there a listing of the different forms of poetry posted somewhere for reference?

    Hi Jeano,
Thanks for the nice review. I am glad you liked it.
I don't know if there is an exhaustive list anywhere. But, there is a long list on www.shadowpoetry.com with the rules of how to write it. Some of the forms are created by people on this site. If you want to learn some new forms join the Pen to Paper Potlatch Club.

Another poetic form that is new to me. Dandizette looks like a fun adventure in poetry. Thanks for the introduction.

Nicely done - I think.

I remember my grandmother watching soaps when they were only 15 minutes long. When my kids were little I watched them myself. When I rocked them cooked, cleaned, and sewed. They were the background noise to my life at that time. When the were interrupted!!!!!!! Karen

    Hi Karen,
When I watched them they were either 30 or 60 minutes long. The 3 soaps were on from noon to three.
    Thanks for the review.

I don't know very much about the ins and out of writing poetry, but I definitely could relate to the contents. Long ago (too many years to count) I too watched the soaps and hung on all the drama. Then reality hit me and I had enough drama of my own. But the escape was fun for awhile.

Being addicted to the soaps is common... I once watched Day of Our Lives...off and on..and then one day, much to my dismay the female lead was changed to another (not as attractive) wife... I stopped watching...

During that time I owned a clothing store on Montana Avenue, in Santa Monica...so I only saw a couple when I went home (close by) for lunch...

This is so great, Dragonpoet! I loved that you described them as phlegmatic so it could rhyme with asthmatic!! HAHAHAHA!! So fun. (okay, and TRUE!!! I, too, watched daily after school!)

I'm wondering, though, if you meant to add an 's' at the very end of line one: watched the soapS.

Very fun read. xo

Very interesting poetry style! And very good description of soaps, and how they are melodramatic, but still managed to suck you in for the long-haul!

One typo:
Had battle phlegmatic (battles)

Thanks for sharing! Julie
