Hi Debbie.
This is a wonderful poem about Tina Turner. She's so talented. Her life with Ike is to often told in movies but her happy second marriage is neglected so much that I hadn't heard of it until now. It is good that she found happiness. The song titles are used well as are the parenthetical word.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

She is a survivor and I love her grinta when she performs on stage.
I think this would be a great new format for a contest .. use the titles of singers songs in a poem.

I remember watching Max Max: Beyond Thunderdome and being absolutely entranced by Tina Turner--she may have been my first crush. And then there's "What's Love Got to Do with It". What an amazing song! This is a well-crafted tribute to a true American icon.
