Stone Heart
Young parents tend to make mistakes...7 total reviews

This has a very powerful message. I know I've been influenced by all sorts of people, not just my parents.
As humans, we all tend to fall short of where we'd ideally like to be. I think any parent can only do their best and hope their children have others who can step up at times when they're unable to.

I appreciate your review, thank you!!
It?s hard because my oldest isn?t doing his part and it?s hard to watch!!
The hardest thing I think that goes with what you?ve said is that we all have a choice. Unfortunately, I see a lot of really young parents falling short.
Not all because obviously that is never the case :)

There is some beautiful and challenging imagery deployed here. The good news is that stone hearts can be melted and returned to human flesh once more.

A very honest and meaningful Trinet. I think you have done the best you could, by giving them resilience and hope and courage to overcome when confronted with the reality of the unintentional weakness or failings of others. Best wishes for your entry.

Very beautiful and touching poem. Childern are fragile but seem to overcome a lot when they know, no matter what, that we love them. I also love the pitcure you used.
Best wishes:)

I don't know this verse form but have taken a quick look at the specifications. I think it's a very brave thing to do to convey your remorse in this way. The most important message from it is that self knowledge is power and that, as you say, taking responsibility can help you rise again. We can't know, sometimes what the future holds when we have children. But whilst we know that, on the one hand, they are 'malleable' we also recognise that they can be resilient because it's part of the process of growing up. Your succinct and well crafted verse in this form is a very worthy contender for the contest. Good luck! Debbie

Wow. This was a very moving and profound piece that speaks the bare truth. It's so true, parents, especially young and immature ones, are many times unaware of how their actions forever impact their children's young and tender hearts. The last lines powerfully summarize the results.
