I am spending a quiet afternoon reviewing your works, or traipsing through your mind as I like to save. I usually save one six star for Saturdays that I use to acknowledge a previously overlooked piece.
This one fits the bill! I also knocked it into recognized status so this is a twofer day for me!
Great word use in this one!

I am so very grateful on both counts!! I'm watching the birdbath right now on a sunny Sunday morning before I get up and going. :)

Excellent we all like a drink and a reel and the idea of preening suggests this is an occasion of celebration even though it is nature speaking makes it no less a human notion much praise.

This is delightful. You are a considerate caretaker. With the heat you must be swamped with feathered friends. I hope the New Yera finds you and yours healthy and happy. Karen

I feed the birds and put out fresh water every day. My cat loves to sit and watch the gathering through the kitchen door. Love your photograph which matches the message perfectly. Happy 2024, my friend!

Thank you so much! I'm imagining the two new little Burmese kittens who will be joining me in a few weeks will love watching the birds from their fancy cat tree near the window. :)

Hello Navada,
I like your poem, and your picture. I love to watch the birds. We have extremely cold weather right now, and I worry about the little guys. We keep a handful of feeders out, but sometimes the snow covers them. The ravens and crows seem to make it through just fine because they are scavengers. I don't know where the birds get water this time of year, everything is frozen solid. Maybe they eat snow. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed day.

A lovely ode, one might say, to the delights of watching our feathered friends up close as they take a bath right on the garden seat - wildlife is a joy in the garden

-Very nice image and presentation.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You have used your 20 syllables well with a good topic.
-Effective imagery and rhyme create a smooth flow of ideas.
-I like your description, "splash and roll."
-A good concluding line, as well.
-Good luck in the contest.

Yes, bird do love a bird bath. Mine got turned over in a storm. This reminds me I need to get it back up and fill it with water. Of course it is winter here, and might not be that inviting until spring. I love you 20 syllable poem and it's neat rhyme.

Thank you! My previous birdbath was recently destroyed in a storm and I replaced it with the same model.

A fine few words to describe a magical scene at bath time for the birds here. That fresh clean water is appreciated, a fine poem for the contest, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

We also have a great many feathered friends who visit us. Morning doves are particularly beautiful. They drive our indoor cats crazy while they glare through the windows! Very nice entry for the contest.

Thanks so much, June! My dearly departed beloved fur baby used to love chirping at the birds. I'm getting two new kittens in a few weeks and I'm sure they will do the same. :)
