Hi John,
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I doubt I'll ever try it, unless it's offered in a restaurant. My wife refuses to eat fish (except fresh-frozen haddock). She won't touch a clam or seafood chowder, and doesn't even want me to cook it. She hates the smell of fish in the air. I have to cook my lobster or scallops outside on the BBQ. But I do love seafood. Good for the heart.
She will let me cook a chicken stir fry, though. That's my specialty. I use maple syrup once the veggies are almost cooked. I add the previously fried chicken at the same time.
Men are the best cooks, eh?
Cheers,
Kimbob

I am of Italian descent and lived in Italy for 25 years, but never prepared bacala myself. So thank you for sharing this, entertaining us as you prepare this dish. Good wine suggestions too. Buon appetito e Buone Feste.

It is a lovely thing when such traditions as you describe are being handed down to new generations. Christmas is a time of celebrating, not only the birth of Jesus, but gathering together, dining, gift giving, and just enjoying each others company. Blessings to you all! Smiles, Lily

This sounds delicious! I have actually tried dried codfish once before on its own, and it lacked seasoning. However, the ingredients you included in here, and all the seasonings and ingredients make me want to make it myself. The image you attached of the Bacalao salad simply invites me to just indulge and make it myself.

I enjoyed reading the process of preparing this salad. I would be delighted to try it, but not so much preparing it. I could live my entire life on salads only...all kinds. Your recipes are so well described and explained, I could almost see you in the kitchen with a glass of wine off to the side. I look forward to more interesting food in the coming year.

Hello,
You brought good memories. I'm from Spain and my mother cooked bacalao often. I never had it in a salad. Your recipe and additional wine and music is perfect, that's how I cook Spanish tortilla de patatas (potato omelet) and paella (rice dish).
You make it sound so delicious.... can I come over? LoL
Well done!

There?s always room for one more at our table.
This sounds awesome; Spanish tortilla de patatas and we enjoy paella at a local Portugese restaurant
Thank you so much for reviewing and those generous stars.
Salud,
John

Sounds like much work, but probably worth the effort. Look forward to more of your cuisine recipes in the coming year. May have to attempt this one.

Sounds like a lot of work, but twenty-five minutes, tops! Unless of course you imbibe in more vino.
Thanks, Brett.

Thank you for sharing. I personally would have problems with the anchovies. They have too strong a salty flavor for me. Maybe it's just the ones I've tried. I have attempted them on several occasions.
Remember, If you've never cooked it before, keep a close eye on it. (if)

Hi John!
Bacala was a Christmas staple in my aunt's home growing up. Yes, few like it, as you state in your piece. You can make it for me if you're so inclined. LOL. Have a great Holiday! Best, JohnC
