Maple leaves in the fall are not only fallen leaves, they are a colorful canvas for artists and people admiring them alike. I love the idea of looking at things in a different perspective. If we look at leaves as something other than the boringness they are, we might actually learn to appreciate them more, and all of their beauty. Nice work!!

This is quite a nice piece of poetry written in haiku style. I do think that maple leaves are lovely, similar to the leaves of the horse chestnut in UK. I think I would probably say "paint pictures" rather than "pastures" but it is your poem.

It is an excellent suggestion. I strained to include a natural scene, ergo pastures. I actually thought about my (front) yard/lawn, but forced the alliteration. I have a Norway Maple in my front yard; the leaves are more reddish than orange. I should have taken a photo of the same a week or so ago and used instead of the FanArt one. (-;

Hi Mark,
I've seen this painting since early October as I walked my trail in Grand Bay. There's nothing prettier than the red & yellow mix of fallen maple leaves.
I like the way you use the wind as nature's paint brush on a canvas.
I like the sound of the "crinkly" leaves" ... onomatopoeia.
And I like the alliteration of "paint pastures".
You know me... here's my offering,
crinkly maple leaves
paint pastures ~
breezes brush canvas

We had a foot of snow covering nature's floor until a week ago. Last Sunday into Monday, we had heavy winds and rain that took it all away, including many roof shingles. I thought the rest of my walks for this year would be on the treadmill, but I was wrong. So nice for this reprieve, being able to use the trail in late December!

Yes your last line suggestion is a worthy alliteration to consider. Pleased you liked my phrasing for this post. I have used this Lune format before. Maybe we can collaborate on a scene/poem at night to give us a more lunar/Lune feel?!? You write the first line, the I will contribute the middle line. The last can be yours or a melding of ideas.

So pleased you found me. I only write short stuff. Longer verses are not within my poetry wheelhouse.

I most often use the photos and illustrations from FanArt to pair with my posts.

If I had to describe my typical Haiku, I would call it ?observational Haiku? ? I write often what I see or can imagine in the physical world.

P.S. If you up for the challenge/idea, I would collaborate with you for a future FS post ? you provide me the image of your painting and I will compose a poem about the same (we can both then jointly edit the verse).
