Now I can say ONE great thing came out of this mess our country is in--a really awesome, succinct, spot-on poem, rhyming to boot!
I agree with everything you said. Your frustration is just much more poetic than mine!
Bravo!

Welcome to my world, Ms. Helms! None f my stuff is like that poem, but I guess I had just had enough bad news and bourbon one day and there it was. I seldom win and certainly did not expect to in this poet universe, but evidently, I am not alone. Love Penn! My wife, originally from Mass, and this Texan, met New York City and would weekend in New Hope. One trip, we both drank too much wine and decided to marry, 47 years later, we still love to RV around the Amish. Thanks for stopping by and your nice review.

So...alcohol always leads to good decisions for you?? Lol! Where in Mass is she from? I was born in Concord, outside of Boston, and went to boarding school in Northfield (near Greenfield). I miss the autumns, but not the winters!

She is from Duxbury. This Texan married a genuine full document Mayflower Yankee. I met her my 3rd night in NYC, having taken a job with Celanese. I was sittin' on the stoop waiting for the Supah to show me a vacant apartment. When he never showed up, she invited me up to see hers. Her roommate and she opened a bottle of wine and I said, "This Texas boy is going to like New York City!" We dated off and on until I got a new job back in Texas. We actually missed each other and decided to try marriage. 47 years, three daughters and 6 grands later, we just moved into our new home in a 55+ community. We returned to Duxbury almost every year since 1977. First in a Toyota, then mini-vans and for 7 yrs in RVs. Time is running out on the driving, but what great memories. My lovely mother-in-law was a gracious Massachusetts lady who never used an "R" even in anger. Our daughters took great pride in being "multi-cultural" - half Texan - half Yankee. When they were young, they could entertain those northern folks for hours with their songs from school and church. I especially liked playing golf where there were no poisonous snakes... Sorry, we Texans tell tales under the rule, "Why use one word when twelve will do." By the way, as my first name is Reese so Hershey is always a favorite stop. I have always worn Reese's tee shirts, hats and, as a salesman, found affixing my business card to a peanut-butter cup helped people remember my name...Life is good!

Ciao mystery poet. You now have 6 votes.

All the issues you listed are happening in my country too. ( sigh)

It is this new world order the puppet masters want to create.

Open borders, transgender , vaccines have mined our health, destroyed the family unit.

These jerks want to create a globalized world without historical, artistic, cultural and religious memory.

People over 50 are already obsolete .. we are just a problem .. the robots era has begun.

LOL, well, Reese, when you tell like it is, or at least how you see it not everyone will agree with you. And then some who agree, won't admit it.

You were actually kind of kind. You could have made this list a lot longer.

The problem from where I sit is that neither side of the political sphere has any clue how to solve anything...except for the government to spend more money.

Good job. Cheers! Terry.

Indeed. I almost never write such stuff, but the prompt and some bourbon brought out the worst in me. We must keep a sense of humor in this terrible times. Thanks for stopping by. Merry Christmas!

Hello. I liked your poem. I enjoy the tight rhythm and rhyme scheme. The comical presentation of real issues is needed and appreciated. Thank you for sharing.

It seems you have a lot of concerns about the future of your county here and mention so many problems here and many would agree that the world has gone crazy just now. A fun post for he contest, I was entertained here, love Dolly x
