Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This is quite an approach: High-pitched Javanese clarinets keened, and drummers wove intricate rhythmic patterns on their double drums to drive the tempo and the heartbeat to higher levels." I think the fact we hoped Kjahan was going to win made the fight more suspenseful as in a movie. The plot thickens: "The police could be informed in the morning." This brings out the point about how tv ormovies affect people's actions and attitude: "as is often the case in TV dramas, there were several passionate bedroom scenes. This could certainly lead to the makings of a cautionary tale. Ooof we are drawn to ch. 5. Excellent A+ especially the blow by blow description of the fight. You are a darn good writer.

Seems I missed a chapter. I didn't think the guy she bet with would want to pay, but he did. I felt kind of sorry for Bapit. He really doesn't have a clue, does he? He should have cleared out of that hotel the second he felt something was wrong, and what he did to Ayesha couldn't have earned him anything other than a kick in the balls.

Oh wow, this was the chapter I missed although your helpful background notes had previously given the gist of Bapit's aberrational behaviour! The boxing match is vividly conveyed. And clearly Ayesha is delighted with her winnings and in excellent humour, unfortunately to her cost later in the hotel room. This is all building nicely, though I can't help but feel sorry for Bapit, unceremoniously carried off to that hovel. A great job, Tony! Take care Debbie

A good chapter that shows some of the nature of Thai culture from the boxing match to the events of the evening. Had Ayesha placed a bet on the match, and that's why she had the money? It's too bad Bapit had watched the American television program he had, or the night would have gone differently. I don't think there is going to be a good outcome for Bapit from the sound of it. Too many people wanting to take advantage of other people.

Thanks, Pam. Yes, Ayesha has plenty of money for her immediate needs. Somchai gave her a little over US $1000 for the necklace. Her 3000 baht (about US$90) bet on Bapit's brother would have netted her another 9000 bahts.
Maybe she has enough to bribe the police? ... or maybe not!
Poor Bapit is definitely in strife.

The story is compelling, but I most enjoyed the descriptions and the writing. I love watching TV boxing, and your vivid account of the match between Klahan and Thaksin made it easy to envision the fight. I also enjoyed reading the tender development of feelings between Ayesha and Bapit. I'm sorry he was so mistaken in the end. Now what's going to happen to either one of them? See you in the next chapter.

Okay, this was a "yikes" chapter on so many levels. First, the fact that Bapit was so inexperienced he used a macho television character as his guide to romance.
Second: she has been traumatized by her now late husband and was expecting to have gentle love. Surprise, surprise.
Third: poor guy goes to a gay bar and gets drunk then swept away by a stranger. And now my imagination is going crazy. Great writing. Gretchen

Thanks very much for your review, Gretchen, and for the six stars. Bapit certainly seems to have got himself into a mess, and things don't look too rosy for Ayesha either.

This is an interesting and fun chapter, although no fun for Bapit. He should never have learned romancing from such a stupid show. After drinking himself unconscious, he is about to learn another lesson it seems. Good details about the environment and the characters in particular.

Oh dear I think Bapit's going to be getting more than he bargained for!! You certainly have great knowledge of boxing and of Thai culture. I found this interesting as my youngest son is currently dating a Thai lady!! I enjoyed reading this very much!

Ayesha and Bapit's misinterpretion may end their friendship. I thought she wanted to have sex but apparently not. It's too bad, they make a cute couple.

Well done, Tony, a very enjoyable chapter.

Her husband, Bruno, is abusive.

I think she did, but Bapit's heavy-handed approach turned her off. It reminded her too much of her abusive husband.

Hahaha, this had me laughing not loud, Tony. What a wonderful turn of event. Poor Bapit has got it all wrong. Women are certainly not as easy going as they seem. It's a hard lesson to learn. A great story this I turning out to be. Ulla:)
