Debbie,

Congrats on your first place win in the 2-10-2 Poem Contest. Your beautifully written short poem captures perfectly the joy and wonder we experience when we hear the sweet songs of the red breasted Robin. Your photo is the perfectly complements the poem with a curious look on the Robin's face offering its appreciation for sharing it singing.

All the best,

Eugene

What a funny-looking, beautiful little bird. We don't have Robins in Oz. I guess the nearest territorial mini bird is the Willy Wagtail (some say Night Jar) flippin' noisy at night he starts his singing (all night.) Birds are so beautiful, they give us joy with their singing and funny antics. Well done. Blessings, Kay xx

Yes, I think he's a youngster but he just appealed to me. His feathers will get less fluffy and his breast more rosy. Thank you so much, Kay, once again, for your kind review. I'm very grateful. Debbie

Most welcome. He was so cute. I'm watching all the birds in my yard as the mothers bring their young - a feast for the eyes. Love, Kay.

That is a wonderful pictuture. That bird is so darn cute. The words speak of the wonders of the little creature. I also loved learning a little about the robin that I didn't know before.

What a lovely poem you have written about a Robin. My grandparents used to raise and sell parakeets. I think that has made me so observant of birds. I like the words you have described the Robin with, rosy breast,
sweet song and blessed. If we take notice, I do believe these little birds do bring us a blessing.

Robins are definitely my favourite kind of bird, even more so at this time of year. I love how tame they are, and how they aren't frightened to come close. An excellent piece.

Thank you so much, Jacob! Yes, apparently they're known for being tame in the UK but not so much in other parts of the world. They obviously feel at home here. Debbie

Thank you so much, John! It was a blind contest so it doesn't go into PM. Thanks for the congrats as well (I think I made 50 cents after paying the entry fee, they know how to spoil us:)) Take care Debbie

Woo-hoo? 50 cents. No of us will get rich here on FanStory. I think winning the contest goes further? 😊

Grr! This didn't come into my PM box. I'm guessing because it's a writing prompt entry. Thank you for not only sharing this beautiful presentation with us, but also the history lesson in the author's notes.

No they don't, I think, if entered into a blind contest, all very secretive:) Thanks so much for your kind review and thoughts, Barbara. Take care Debbie

I'm on one of my rare poem-reading binges, and since I liked your last one so much, it's nice to run across another one. And thanks for sharing the added information.

This popped up as unreviewed. Congratulations on your win. The language is certainly sweet and well-chosen, especially that last word. But we know that writing like this sometimes just takes the fancy of the committee, doesn't it, and it is right to go for that audience at times. So, all power to you!

I admit some defeat on this one (I know what you're saying:)). It was a blind vote and I just wanted to try and make something of this ridiculously short verse with as much rhyme as possible (breast/blessed). Thank you so much for your kind review and congrats, as ever, much appreciated. Debbie
