Not sure what to say, your thoughts and words become very real although I feel spoiled in that most of my life has been good and blessed in many ways. As with us all a few bumps and bruises but recovered. I spent many years seeing and dealing with death and destruction, part of the life of a Veterinarian. The world can be a cruel place, we need to help this world as we can.

Hi, Rick.Thank you for your awesome review! Yes, lots of death, both animals and people. My life at best has been indifferent. At worst it has been almost dead. My book "Ghost" reveals the corruption, cover up and the decimation of children. How about growing up in that atmosphere. It's on my profile, but it's the unedited version. Your writing brings your experience to life. Especially in the parts where you describe the feeling of not having enough experience, but still trying. I also liked the moment where you add a bit of humor with the "cheap" line - that was a nice touch. Overall, it felt like a story about persistence and hope, even when things are tough. Keep it up!

You are therefore, still searching and hoping for a sincere person who can be trusted. I hope B can be trusted. So far, you're a fighter. I hope you don't have to fight him.

it seems so odd that fast food places would require experience, since they usually hire anyone who wants to work for minimum wage. I'm glad you kept trying to find work though. You brought up a good point, how can you get experience if you can't get hired? I'm glad you found a place to stay, but obviously, this isn't the best arrangement either. I'm sure it was uncomfortable for you, but I'm glad the lady is patient.

Oh yeah, many of them do hire without experience and I did get one. I'm kentucky fried chicken job. Got some free chicken and stuff out of the deal! Thank you so much again Tom I appreciate you. I really do. It's a broken record I know But it needs to be set again and again. Thank you again for your rating in your fine comments as well!

Hey, you got some pretty good chicken out of the deal. I never liked the mashed potatoes, but the coleslaw was out of this world. At least you were fed, that's always nice.

It is so frustrating when you're applying for jobs and they only want people with experience. There never seems to be many entry level roles being offered, I find. Another well told chapter Lea.

I liked reading this. The woman was the more generous of the two, it sounds like. I wonder if she is the type who would take in stray dogs or cats as well. Strong suggestion: change 'ya' to 'yeah' every time it occurs.
