Liz, I am so sorry that I am just hearing this. I would think that Tom should be able to help you reset your password. Don't give up. Thank you for sharing this. Other FS members may be going through the same thing.

The universe was clearly watching over me.I don't know how it was but I pressed & other people pressed Tom enough so that he did something right and now I have my password. Thank you for your concern

Dear Liz, I wish I could help but I'm such a dunce on these things and your experience, I'm afraid, is going right over my head. Maybe, by now, someone has been able to help although, why Tom can't, is perplexing to say the least. My main purpose is to bump you up so that you can cross the line. Do let me know if you've managed to fix things. It never ceases to amaze me that, although we're living in a technological age, there is so much unknown about the devices we use. Take care Debbie

Enough people put enough pressure on Tom, he must have done some serious research, he Thank you for your reviewing my dilemma. Enough people put enough pressure on Tom to do enough research so he finally got the most simple solution. He said to put Liz for my id and put Liz for my password. It worked. I was able to finally get in. Isn't that ridiculous??? Thank you for caring.

No! I hope you can get it fixed. I just discovered your writing and would hate for it to disappear now. Computers. Can't live without them but they can be such a pain to deal with when they have issues. Wish I could help or there was some magic IT department that could help out.

Thank you for your compassionate review. Some how Tom researched enough and was urged on enough to keep going until he found a simple solution. yes, I am solidly on the group again.

Ack! I hope you're able to copy-paste or download your stories to at least save them to an external hard drive. What a sad situation. I hope that someone is able to help you change your password via the junker, and then that should help you with logging in with the new computer.

Okay, so this is pretty horrible. Did you ever use LizOniell2 on Fanstory in the past? At any time, even in the beginning?

This is confusing because I can access my account on all three of my devices simply by going to the initial login and putting my user ID and password in.

Try this. Delete all cookies on both computers, even the new one. Completely shut off old computer. Activate pop up blocker on new computer meaning no popups. Then try to login on new computer under your old password. But don't enter old password. Select change password and pick a new one.

I have to do this every couple of months because the modern cookies are creating pathways. (Or so I was told by a computer guy) that eventual overload the system.

I just don't undersstand whjy Tom can't just
Thank you for your attentive review.I just wonder why Tom can't just sort things out. No I never used LizONeill2. The system told me I had to sign in with2. If I do that, I lose my account & everything I've worked for.

Thank you for your compassionate review. I affectionately call my old ailing chromebook my junker. I seem to be collecting them. I have 2 junker Dells that I keep alive because my pictures ate on them. I am using my junker chromebook right now to be able to connect with you. Otherwise all is lost.

I wish I could help you, but computers are like witchcraft to me. I have to have help from my granddaughter to get my submissions online. Can you change your password to something totally different, like one of your cat's and its birthday. I have no idea if that would work.

Have you called Chromebook? They should be able to reset it for you. And to reset your password in Fan story is easy. go to settings which is the first icon on the fan story browser, it will show you the change pass word button. I have 2 chromebooks and use fanstory with both of them.

I called the Dell Chromebook for help with how to sinc stuff & the could no help, but now I thinking of chromebook for that. I have tried the changing my password...resetting anything makes me nervous...what does reset mean?

I'm sorry. I can be of no help at all with computers. My Dell PC is getting old, and I know I need a new one but am worried the problems a new one will cause. My husband uses a Chromebook. He really likes it but when he described it, I know I will never get one. It's too complicated. I have no clue why you can't sign into FanStory with your new computer. I do, when I travel, use a laptop and never have any problems switching computers and getting on FanStory. I really hope someone one this site can help. I'll say a prayer.

The chromebook is not complicated at all. It is you cannot store pictures on it, butit has such great writing tools in its chrome documents. Everything in Microsoft Office. Cut it has a builtin voice to print and print to voice, my favorite for reading people chapter of at least 2000 words. I'd never be able to stay with it if I didn't have someone reading to me. I also use it to proof read my own writing. Do consider it.

I wonder why? I go into Google Docs& write all if my chapters, highlight them to get the count to knoe if I need to write mote for my quote of a 1000 words. Then I high light as much asI want to proof read, press cntrl alt and it come up with a voice saying 'chrome vox is ready. I press cntrl c and it starts reading all I highlighted
I also sometimes use voice to print by pressing the spy glass and d at the same time, a chime comes on and I slowly dictate my message. I don't often use this for my chapyers, mostly for messaging. But my favorite is chrome vox. My cat discovered it for me when he say on the left corner...it was quitr a mystery to hear a voice. I was afraid I was going to have to sit on my keys to discover it. Somehow I figured it out bwaaa. You husband may not know about these aspects. I guess this s why many writers on here use chromebook

Too bad you couldn't try one out. Karenina has one too. I know there are others but can't remmber who (written on my junker...still alive)
