Mimi, you have written this flawless verse with such exquisite imagery and feeling. You capture the moods of both the autumn and winter seasons as they meet in passing. Brilliant to use a conversation between oak and leaf to tell this story.

Mimi,
Congrats on your 1st place win in the Autumn Poetry contest. Your masterfully crafted poem presents a creative and imaginative personified story about Autumn by the last leaf of the mighty Oak tree conversing about the life of the Mighty Oak through seasons past. The dialogue and imagery woven throughout this brilliantly written poem makes this a true masterpiece. Well Done.
All the best,
Eugene

Eugene... Thank you so very much for the lovely review of my personification of The Last Leaf and its conversation with the Mighty Oak - I'm so happy that you enjoyed! I had a wonderful time imagining the conversation the two may have had on the little leaf's last flight. Thank you again and have a beautiful day!

This was such a beautiful piece. Never did I think that I might feel any emotion at all towards a leaf, but you definitely made me feel that with your piece. The image of the lonely leaf left a lone with the tree was so powerful. A really well written piece.

I think that autumn is the most beautiful of all the seasons. The whole world around us changes into the most glorious kaleidoscope of colour. Great poem, a worthy winner.

Congrats on your contest win, Mimi, and well deserved! What an absolutely delightful and original verse you've created here with your clever dialogue between the single leaf and the towering oak. This personification vividly evokes reader's emotions and engagement with the story so that there is quite a poignancy by the end as the two 'characters' bid farewell. Very well done again! Debbie

In undulate descent, should be: In undulating descent.Or....
How about whimsical, whispery, frolicking?
Everything counts in a contest. The poetry is very good. And is cleverly thought out. Karen

Hi, Karen... Thank you so much for the 5-star review and for the suggested replacement of the word "undulate." That is the only word that I really wasn't crazy about from the beginning and did sneak it in trying to use my "literary license." I left it there meaning to go back, but never did! LOL! Now that you've brought it to my attention again, I'm giving it another shot. While "undulating" disturbs the meter and I had already used frolic a few lines below, I'm musing a change to "fluttering" which I think may capture my original intention... Thank you again for bringing it back to my attention and so happy you enjoyed The Last Leaf! Have a wonderful day!

Fluttering is perfect! Yes of course I liked it. Karen

Thank you for your beautiful retrospect on the ending of the Autumn season.
Your imaginative dialogue brought the Oak tree and the falling leaves. Personally... I, like that mighty Oak, do not look forward to that final falling leaf. Mr. Winter please delay your touch a bit longer.
Good luck in the contest.
