I love that this poem so easily fits the 8-word prompt for the contest that it's almost as if it was chosen, and not a mandate of the contest. I love that it also rhymes and has a song-like meter. And best of all, it tells a truth. Nicely done!

sad but true. Those who spread gossip are some of the worst out there. There is no thing as innocent gossip. How about that food for thought? Anyway good luck.

I once wrote a one-line poem entry also called "Food For Thought". Yours is better and I hope it does better than mine, which went nowhere! gossip has hurt people, damaged Churches and been responsible for much suffering.

In our weekly Bible Class we have been studying Paul's Letter to the Church at Corinth, and he emphasized the needs for church discipline and that gossip had no place in the church.

Yes, it is often so cruel to spread gossip with no attempt to ascertain any truth behind it. Just add your bit and consider your job done, unconcerned about the consequences. I'm still not quite sure about the relevance of the visual although he does look a bit mean. Well done with these 8 words and good luck! Debbie

Hi Debbie, two things were on my mind. One involves a so-called friend, and the amount of speculation by the media, I guess this being the first attempt at a short poem. where
