Ever practical, I'm trying to figure out why you would die if too sly? Maybe it just rhymed. That's ok. Poetic license.
But I also like to try to get into people's heads and figure why they write what they write.
But then ... sometimes I don't know why I write what I write :) Makes sense at the time, I guess.

Merriam Webster defines sly as secrecy and deception. That might well lead to death, in the militery, for example. It might also amount to professional suicide.
Thank you for sharing and for exploring.

yep. Sly is not a particularly good trait.

Too shy is not that good a trait either.
    Thank you.

You have the eight words in this poem, but I couldn't find the humor in it.
There were no spelling errors, and the text was well-sized.
Perhaps an illustration might give some visual interest, but I must admit it might be a challenge to find an image for shyness or slyness.

Best wishes.

To me, the humor is in the suddenness of response:
1, Too shy, I cry, 2. Too sly, I die, I need to laugh just to recover my sense of balance. I laugh because I suddenly must come to terms with the unexpected importance of my manner of conducting myself.
Thank you for putting me on the spot. It took me a while to respond.

All's well. The interesting thing is how widely reviews can vary from each other, or even from the author's intention. I'm glad it gives you a needed laugh.

    Best wishes.
