I love this verse about guilt and yet I somehow missed it by not being vigilant (guilt) about the contests. Well done, Elle, on your placing and for creating such a relatable poem, oozing those uncomfortable, clinging thoughts of unworthiness. The title is superb and presentation undeniably eye-catching! Now I feel guilty for missing this excellent post! Debbie x

Thanks very much, Deb. I cannot tell you how many contests I have missed. (guilt, guilt, guilt, guilt...) But that's okay. For me, as a Jew, a day without guilt means I just did not try hard enough!!

How very common is this feeling, especially among women and especially among mothers! You've hit the nail on the head. Now, if only we could stimulate this among the other sex and watch a few more Arthur Guiltrushes stumble over themselves to engage in self-reflection ... :)

You're right. Women seem kind of genetically wired to it...well, and Jewish men do, too. (I'm Jewish. My people's mantra is: A day without guilt means you really just did not try hard enough.) Oh...and how about instead of Arthur Guiltrush, we say 'Carey D. Guiltrush." HAAA!! Get it? I had a bit of a time deciding between Anita Guiltrush and Ivana Guiltrush...but, ultimately, Anita won out.

Thanks for this really nice review. It was great.

We all have a need to look after ourselves and occasionally indulge too and we should be able to do it without feeling guilty. I hope no child has to sleep in the snow though, a poignant selfless post, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

In my family, Dolly, a day without guilt meant you simply did not try hard enough!! Lol. Thanks for the thoughtful review.

This is excellent poem for the challenge. Surely guilt is a strong emotion. The worse the news gets, the easier it is to feel guilt. I get it. Your presentation is very good. You use expressive words and colorful imagery that will draw in a readers.

Best wishes,

Alexandra
