Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Loved the lightheartedness of the leaf up my nose paragraph, Lea. You are doing well telling your story.
Edit - the direction I was going was took me farther and farther away. seventy five (five) cents
Well written, with a lot of different emotions showing.
cheers,
valda

Hello Lea,
well done gal. I could feel the struggle of having to move your feet forward when all you wanted to do was rest and give up. I'm glad that you made the correct turn to take you to civilization. Finding the jacket was an added bonus too. Sounds like someone was looking out for you gal. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
Have a blessed evening gal.
Tom

This is some intensely great writing. It is full of suspense and fear.

I could feel it because I have lived it. Fight or flight. If you made the hard choice to hide from my step-father you had better stay hidden.

Flashback city. Thanks for sharing. Glad you survived.

Wow, you are really getting to the heart of your story... Such trauma and great that you can write it down and hopefully let go of it... As you say there is always a wellspring.

Thank you lisa, I so appreciate you reading truly and your comments are always welcome! It's getting cold here, too on the west coast, canada although we are in the warmest part of the country, we still get pretty nippy in the winter time. The rabbit hole goes so very deep so deep that my grandmother is not the rescuer but the reason which I will write about. Thank you again so much hope you have an awesome night!

What an horrendous experience you have been through and you have described it so vividly. I can picture the scene you have described and can feel the anxiety and pain you must have felt.

Oy, the terrors you had to suffer during such early years of your life! This is heart-wrenching and gut-wrenching. You are AMAZING to have survived at ALL, let alone to have become such a warm, considerate, appreciative, wonderful human being.

That is high praise Rochelle! Thank you so very much! I do have scars as would be natural by work with those things every day and I became aware which close of it start to come in now.
I have introduced my grandmother to the story so far everyone thinks she's great. The rabbit hole goes so very deep. Thank you so much, you always know how to give me a smile. I hope your day is amazing, thanks again!

Another excellently conveyed step on your journey. Still longing for an end, but I guess that I must be patient, as you had to be at the time. Thank you for continuing your bravery in writing this.

It seems like that awful experience of homelessness leads to the greater chance of becoming ill. It also seems like one can never take for granted the ability to buy things to eat or even to take a simple bus ride.
Little fix:
Down the road shone the yellow sign in brown lettering that said, "Tim Hortons"
I would just leave the quotation marks off unless they were literally also on the sign. I suspect it said Tim Horton's.

Wow! One lucky young lady to have survived that ordeal. So you spent the night in the leaves? Any idea how far you went? Or how long you were away?
Nicely written story.
Have you ever read Stephen King's 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon'?
Best wishes.

I've probably read 95% of Stephen King's novels including his psuedonym Richard Bachman. But that particular one I have not read.
I walked 2 days to get out the one night I spent in the forest was underneath the pile branches leaves anything I could insulate myself with. It was warm enough, but it was definitely dirty.
I was in the forest for almost 6 months total. Thank you, Wayne, for your fine review of game. You know, I'm always happy and appreciated to receive them, so I'm going to sound like a broken record. I'm gonna tell you all the time, thanks again. Hope you're having an amazing night! BTW the rabbit hole goes very very deep. Even as far as attempted murder.

You're such a sweet person, Lea, and I'm so sorry to read of your upset yesterday, even though it was mixed with faith and determination. Your reader wants you to leave that forest behind so badly, especially because every detail you describe seems to be a further attack on your already fragile, unwell being. The relief when you finally make some headway is therefore immense and, of course, you have some good fortune in your discovery of the jacket. You've now escaped that jungle and have reached civilisation. But what next? A small edit: "I knew this, the direction I was going was (taking)..." This is such an engrossing read that leaves the reader feeling as shattered as yourself. Thanks for sharing it. Debbie x
